About project
We had a pleasure to work and co-operate on an unique project for Bratislava City Gallery.
Over a one year period, we have worked on an interactive & educational game, which is focused on a new type of presentaion of museum or gallery interiors with expositions.
Game comes with short storyline with various guidelines and text-bubble explanations for gallery rooms and artworks. Game was developed for children (from ~4th year school class), but due to "Villa Mysterii" room, game was forced set to Pegi 12+.
Quick game storyline
The 3D virtual tour of Bratislava City Gallery is designed as an FPS style game, where player slowly explores all rooms of gallery by completing tasks. Every task player completes, earns a golden key, which open next room and new task. Tasks are designed to educate player about the room he is in, artworks, history of gallery, etc.. We think, that by achieving keys and game progress, player gains knowledge through fun and interest. Gallery interiors are also slightly redesigned and enriched by non nexisting chapelle room, altar and other environments. Story gives this way more surprises and creates more interesting overall plot for players.
Technical info
Whole project was after 3d modeling & texturing imported, composed and produced in Unreal Engine 4. UE4 provides a great potential in term of functionality and graphics performance. Within this project, we learned how to create real-time, nice looking and functional 3d projects, which can be used in any kind of business area (design, arch. viz., product rendering, etc.).
